Sustainability Focus

Atlas Copco has grouped its main sustainability activities in three dimensions:

  • Community engagement (philantropy) for example Water for All
  • Reengineer within ‘the family’ (internal processes), for example ISO 14001 in all production processes, supplier evaluations and HIV/Aids programs
  • Reengineer the larger environment (Industry standards), for example launch of new innovative products that shape the regulations and push the industry to adapt to new standards e.g. compressors with variable speed drive.

UN Global Compact membership

Atlas Copco has supported the UN Global Compact since its start and has over the years implemented its principles in the Business Code of Practice as well as in the supplier evaluation procedure. The reporting of the ten principles is published in the Sustainability Report. Atlas Copco’s signed membership in 2008 is a further enhancement of the Group’s commitment to Global Compact, which is a continued support.
